Barbara became a nurse after graduating from Pace University with an AAS followed by her BSN. Dr. Polowczyk, furthered her education with a Master’s in Nursing as a clinical nurse specialist and a Certificate of advanced graduate studies as an FNP from Pace University. Finally completing her education with a Doctoral degree as a Doctor of Nursing practice from Dominican College. She also serves as the coordinator for the weekend accelerated nursing program and evening traditional program at Dominican University.
Dr. Barbara Polowczyk’s expertise is in emergency medicine, caring for both adults and children. Both her clinical background in emergency medicine, and education as a family nurse practitioner allows her to serve the community as a primary care doctor at Paul’s Prompt and Straus Family Health here in South Salem.
Over the past two decades she has had the privilege to work at a local hospital here in Westchester in the emergency department as an advanced practice provider. She is a Doctoral prepared Family Nurse Practitioner available for appointments in our Westchester office, providing a wide range of services by appointment.

Episodic visits such as: Sore throat, allergies, asthma, cough, congestion. rashes, lacerations, travel medicine (yellow fever vaccine), medication renewal, muscular problems, Lyme disease testing, suturing and wound management, and much more.
Nurse Practitioner Flohr received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mount Saint Mary’s College, and his Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner from Dominican College. He has a wide range of experience, starting with the Trauma unit at Albany Medical Center where he was located from 2018-2021. Starting in 2021 his focuses shifted to Adult and Pediatric Primary Care along with Urgent Care.
Being native to the Hudson Valley Region, with long term ties to Monroe, he is familiar with the cultural diversity. He speaks, English, Yiddish and some Spanish, which allows him to communicate with his patients in their native languages providing a sense of comfort. He is currently located at the Monroe office providing a wide range of services by appointment.
Dr. Dayle M Butler has been a nurse practitioner since 2006. She focuses on all aspects of adult primary care, and MAT (medical assisted treatment) for substance abuse.
Dr. Butler received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Dominican College in 2003, her Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner from Dominican College in 2005, and is Board Certified with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) since 2006. While working in primary care for two years, Dr. Butler decided to continue her education and earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Fairleigh Dickenson University in 2010. Dr. Butler spent eight years in Medical Oncology at Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, N.J., before returning to primary care in 2016.
Currently, Dr Butler is the PCP (Primary Care Provider) for Straus Family Health located in West Haverstraw, N.Y. since 2020. Offering both office visits and telehealth, she provides excellent care through health promotion and maintenance, disease prevention, patient education, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses. Providing a wide range of services by appointment.
Dr. Straus opened Rockland Urgent Care in September of 2015 to serve the emergency care needs of North Rockland and its surrounding communities. Since than he has opened other locations and his newest practice which specializes in Adult and Geriatrics primary care; Straus Family Health NP, P.C..
Dr. Straus began his emergency training at the age of 16, starting as a volunteer at Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps. He then furthered his career and became a nurse, graduating from Excelsior College with his ASN followed by Ramapo College of NJ, with a BSN. He received his emergency nurse training at the esteemed Montefiore Medical Center – Moses Campus, Emergency Department.
Dr. Straus then received his Masters degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Emergency Care from UMDNJ (now Rutgers) completing his emergency training at University Hospital in Newark, NJ, a Level 1 trauma center. Finally, he completed his Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Dominican College of Blauvelt. He is a Fellow of the College of Urgent Care Medicine.
Dr. Christophe received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Dominican College in 2003, her Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner from Dominican College in 2015, Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Dominican College in 2023, and Board Certified with the AANP (American Association of Nurse Practitioners). Prior to being a Nurse Practitioner, she had completed over 10 years of experience at Montefiore Hospital as an Intensive Care Unit nurse.
Being a native to Rockland County, NY she is familiar with the cultural diversity. Dr Christophe speaks English, Haitian Creole and Jamaican Patois, allowing her to communicate with her patients in their native languages, provides a sense of comfort. Having worked at Rockland Urgent Care since 2021 has allowed her to create bonds with current patients and allows her to continue her growth with them at Straus Family Health.
Dr. Christophe’s experience is within but not limited to: Nephrology, Women’s Health, Family Medicine, and Gerontology. She is currently located at the West Haverstraw office providing a wide range of services by appointment.
